About

Students of the World (SOW) is a non-profit that partners with college students to highlight social issues around the globe and the innovative solutions of those working to address them. Since 2000, SOW has partnered with student documentary teams with over 40 innovative social international initiatives, producing wide-ranging media, including short films, multi-media exhibits, photo essays, articles and a feature-length documentary with the ultimate purpose of educating and inspiring others to action.

This Summer The University of Texas at Austin Students of the World team will produce a documentary film to spread the creative model and accomplishments of MPower Labs, the research and development arm, and Rêv Worldwide, the global network of regional payment companies, of MPower Ventures. MPower is an Austin-based venture fund that builds companies to empower people by providing access to economic resources to those who cannot reach financial literacy through traditional banks and services. We are privileged to devote our time to such a worthwhile and innovative organization. MPower works to address a variety of important financial issues confronting populations worldwide including remittance, credit establishment and debt management.

Students of the World will allow the team to spend four weeks in Kosovo immersed in, learning from and documenting financial issues affecting this country. Students of the World is a tax-deductible organization that depends on private contributions to be able to fund our programs.
